Highlights of our October 13-20, 2024 tour

Day1 - Benvenuti!

Check-in at your boutique hotel in Santa Margherita Ligure. You’ll be welcomed by your local private tour guide/greeter at your arrival. Welcome aperitif and dinner

 

Day 2 – Live la “dolce vita” in Portofino and beyond

Your private tour guide will pick you up at your hotel and together you’ll explore the picturesque villages in the heart of the Portofino Natural Park at your own pace. Start from the picturesque village of Santa Margherita Ligure once called the “salotto” of the entire Gulf, famous for its painted facades, its lush gardens, and villas overlooking the sea. Enjoy a panoramic trip by public boat* and reach the post-card-perfect village of Portofino.

Day 3 – Cinque Terre with lunch in the vineyards

Spend the morning visiting Vernazza and Manarola, two of the most iconic villages. At lunch, reach a gorgeous wine estate nestled just above the village of Monterosso. Take a walk through the narrow streets of the village of Monterosso until you reach the bright promenade and the Capuchin convent from which you will enjoy a magnificent view of the bay.

Day 4 - Genoa’s uniqueness will blow you away
Wandering through the “Carrugi” alleys is a unique experience and we believe that by just walking through this maze of historical streets, you’ll find the real essence of Genoa. You’ll discover the largest medieval old town in Europe, walk along its narrow alleyways, stop in the squares and in the Renaissance streets of the historical town.

Day 5 – Rapallo foodie tour and pesto

In Rapallo you will meet your host Guido and start with a welcome aperitivo. Then head to his emporium filled with local specialties and learn to make pesto with mortar and pestle. The tour continues through the narrow alleys of the picturesque old center of Rapallo towards the vibrant food market to get to know the ingredients of the local cuisine.

 

Day 6 – Olive oil and the picturesque Camogli

Enjoy an exclusive and sustainable experience on the slopes of Portofino Mountain where you will be welcomed in the olive farm of a local family, who has resumed with passion the traditional activity of olive growing and oil making. The location is breathtaking, the view extends over the whole Gulf of Portofino. Then you will reach the picturesque fishing village of Camogli home of the Ligurian Focaccia.

 

Day 7 – Ligurian street food cooking class with a food writer

In the afternoon meet Valentina who has made the Ligurian culinary tradition her job as a writer and photographer of local cookbooks and you will learn directly from her to prepare some of the most famous Ligurian street food recipes. Here everything revolves around the kitchen and you can breathe a very special atmosphere made of passion and competence. From "focaccette" with cheese, to the Torta Pasqualina, to the famous Farinata made with chickpeas, you will discover the secrets of simple and delicious foods handed down for generations.

Day 8 – Check-out and departure.
