Tuscany  2020

March 21 - 28, 2020

Wander along medieval streets in mountaintop towns and villages in Tuscany  discovering the civilization that created the dishes you will learn to make.

Our hosts in the Chianti Classico region, Arianna and Alessio, are passionate proponents of the Kilkometro Zero idea, in other words, sustainable food, and the farm-to-table philosophy, which is our bible.

Imagine visiting a vineyard where everyone is busy in the preparation of Vin Santo, as it's been done for centuries.

Proposed Activities:

  • Market to table cooking class for a fall menu with Gilda

  • Walking Tour of Florence

  • Bistecca Fiorentina dinner in Florence

  • Wine degustation of Brunellos, Chiantis, and Super Tuscans in wineries in the countryside outside of Florence

  • Visit and lunch at a historic vin santo estate in Chianti

  • Visits to medieval walled towns near Florence

On this trip we will be accompanied by a photography instructor, Maria de las Casas, a well known photographer from Spain who will guide our photographic eye and help us form a visual essay of our trip.
